Sit-In Musicians

The Fiddlers Green Contra Dance welcomes musicians of all experience levels to sit in with our hired musicians. (Sit-in musicians are expected to pay regular dance admission.)

At each dance sit-ins and listeners are welcome to take a seat at the back of the stage. We play accessible tunes during the first half and more challenging tunes after the break. Sit-in musicians are invited to “self-select” and play and/or dance whenever they’d like throughout the evening.

Our Current Tune List

Fiddlers Green Session

Each month, about a week before the dance, we hold an optional session for musicians looking for extra practice. At each session, we put together two medleys of accessible tunes that we play at the dance later that month. If you’d like to attend a session, please start by meeting and joining us at one of our Fiddlers Green dances.

For more information, come to a dance and talk with the musicians or contact us at FGsitins@fiddlersgreencontra.org.
